Jack Pearson's Son is the fifteenth episode of the first season and the 15th overall episode of This Is Us.

Kevin stresses about the premiere of his play and receives support from an unexpected source; Randall struggles under the pressure of both his work and ailing father; Rebecca and Jack's Valentine's Day doesn't go as planned; and Toby and Kate learn each other's secrets.
Full Summary[]
Rebecca prepares to leave for her tour. Jack thinks it’s a crazy idea, but can’t say it out loud. Rebecca overhears that Kevin is having sex with Sophie, prompting an awkward conversation about safe sex. Randall works himself up stressing about a Hamlet paper. These cause Rebecca to reconsider leaving, but Jack tells her she has to go. Jack and Miguel go to see Rebecca perform. Miguel tries to rebound from his divorce with the women there, while Jack is distracted by Rebecca’s apparent romantic chemistry with her pianist, Ben. Talking to Ben, he learns that the two once dated. Jack and Rebecca end up fighting.
Kate visits Duke, but only to tell him off for being rude to her. Duke tells her that his parents own the weight loss clinic and she gets kicked out. She and Toby talk about how there’s a lot they don’t know about each other despite their engagement, so they ask each other as many questions as possible. After the conversation turns to Toby’s depression and suicidal ideation, Toby asks about Kate’s trauma over her dad’s death. Kate tries to talk but can’t get the words out. Seeing how hard it is to talk to him about this, Toby suggests pushing back their wedding date.
It’s opening night for Kevin’s play. Kevin is having feelings of impostor syndrome. He visits his mother and ends up having a heart to heart with Miguel about his father.
Randall is showing physical signs of stress from all that he’s dealing with. Beth has to leave town when her mother has an accident, pressure from work is closing in, and William won’t accept help from a hospice nurse. It causes him to flounder at an important work meeting, and miss Kevin’s play.
Randall calls Kevin right before the play, and Kevin can tell something is wrong, so he bails on the performance to go comfort him.
